Jake Mercer is a two-sport varsity athlete at Lincoln High School in his junior year. A three-year starter on the defensive line, Jake has anchored Lincoln's defense since his freshman year, earning All-Conference honors in 2024 after recording 14 sacks and 47 tackles. Known for his motor and football IQ, Jake reads offensive formations quickly and consistently disrupts backfield plays before they develop.
At 6'2" and 235 lbs, Jake has the size and athleticism that college programs look for at the next level. He trains year-round with a focus on strength, agility, and film study. His coaches describe him as a leader in the locker room and one of the hardest workers on the roster.
In the spring Jake transitions to the baseball diamond as a shortstop and two-way player, showcasing the athleticism and competitiveness that defines him across both sports.
Off the field Jake maintains a 3.8 GPA, is active in the National Honor Society, and volunteers with the Lincoln youth football camp each summer
